A woman has been taken to hospital with leg and head injuries after being hit by a car.
Police and paramedics attended the scene outside Roding Valley High School in Alderton Hill, Loughton at around 7am following reports of a black Volkswagen Golf colliding with a woman in her early 20s.
The road remained closed for 2 hours whilst emergency crews treated the woman for leg pain and head injuries at the scene.
She was then transferred by ambulance to Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone for further care.
The woman is said to be in a serious condition.
There were no further injuries.
