A disability charity has been awarded a £3,000 grant.
Accuro, which provides respite care, holiday and Saturday clubs and a youth group for people with disabilities in and around Epping Forest, was awarded the grant from the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2014, this week.
The organisation, which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year, received the money following a public vote to enable it to continue its work in the community.
Accuro chief executive Arthur Steward said “This grant will make a very significant difference to a number of children with a disability both now and in the future.
“The grant will provide the opportunity for Accuro to develop new systems and mechanisms for communicating with children and young people who do not communicate verbally, thereby enabling them to express their views and wishes and to become more independent.”
