A new charity organisation was officially launched last week with a celebration of the important work carried out by volunteers.

Carers Trust Epping Forest, Harlow, Havering and Redbridge was formed earlier this year and the trust was officially launched last Thursday at the City Pavilion in Romford.

The launch was a celebration of the work the charity carries out, and a number of charity employees were rewarded for their work.

The charity, which now has a workforce of over 120 workers, provides support for the more than 75,000 carers in North East London and Essex.

Kathy Verges, chief executive of the Carers Trust, said: “We hope this launch has shown carers our continued commitment to support them, and explained to those in authority the breadth of specialist services we provide.

The charity aims to help carers for those with serious illnesses to deal with the emotional and physical strains the role can entail.
