A care home assistant has been given a 'Heart of Gold' award.

Lisa Burgin, who has worked at Honey Lane care home in Waltham Abbey since 2012, received a glass plaque and Tiffany necklace after being nominated for what residents described as "an every day difference" she has made to their lives.

Honey Lane care home, which specialises in nursing, residential and dementia care in the south east and East Anglia, presented Ms Burgin with the award last week.

The Heart of Gold Awards, which were launched by Carebase in 2009, recognise employees for their dedication and commitment.

Honey Lane Care Home Manager Karen Dean said: "Lisa is a fantastic Care Assistant and fully deserves this recognition.

"We send her our heartfelt congratulations and thanks for everything she brings to Honey Lane.”
