A flood alert is still in place for parts of the River Roding after heavy rain at the weekend.
The water level of the Middle River Roding through Abridge and Loughton was set to rise slightly again today following more rain overnight and this morning.
The Environment Agency is monitoring the situation, although it says that the levels are unlikely to rise as high as they have been in recent days.
On Monday, two cars were trapped on Stondon Road in Ongar after the River Roding burst its banks.
Flooding also affected areas of Nazeing at the weekend.
