A teenager has received national recognition after demonstrating a strong commitment to social action and helping others.

Epping Forest Youth Councillor, Evie Foster, 16, was selected as one of 50 nationawide '#iwill' ambassadors this week at a special ceremony at the Indigo O2 in Greenwich.

The teenager was recognised for her community work such as facilitating the first of the council's stress bullying and drugs workshops and assisting youth projects.

Ambassadors are selected for demonstrating a strong commitment to helping others, such as volunteering, campaigning or fundraising.

Evie said: “I am absolutely delighted and very proud to have received this recognition.

"I feel passionately about helping others and would encourage all young people to get involved and do something for your community.

"It really is worthwhile.

"It is not just for your own benefit but for others too, it really is a win-win situation.”
