A fundraising charity will attempt to raise thousands for breast cancer clinical trials at an annual pamper evening.

Together In West Essex will hold the sixth annual charity pamper evening and Christmas fair between 7.30 and 10pm tonight in a bid to match last year’s fundraising total of £10,223.

The evening will consist of live make-up tutorials, masseurs, Indian head massages, reflexologists, Christmas stalls and nail technicians as well as a Winter Wonderland.

Since the charity was founded 13 years ago it has raised a total of £308,000 towards funding breast cancer clinical trials at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow and St Margarets in Epping.

Charity Honorary Secretary Karen Thompson, 48, said: "I hope the evening goes as well as possible and that we can match if not beat last year’s fundraising total.

"I am looking forward to raising further funds towards such a worthwhile cause."

Chelmsford Insurers, QBE, have agreed to double tonight’s fundraising total.

Admission to the event, which will be held at Wolseys in Duton Hill, Dunmow, is a £10 donation and includes a glass of pink champagne on arrival.
