A restaurant owner will face the council’s licensing committee today after employing illegal immigrants.
Lagos Island, in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, was visited by police and Border Agency officers in May.
People working in the country without permission were found to be employed at the restaurant owned by Oridolamu Gaby Kolago.
A warrant was then applied for by police, who revisited the site on September 5.
Four workers of eight were then arrested, including two Nigerian nationals.
Police have asked the council to review the restaurant’s licence for alcohol and entertainment.
It could be suspended, revoked or altered.
The hearing will begin at 10am.
