Noah's animals, a reality tv star and Santa with his little helpers all attended this year’s Calvacade of Light festival.

Hundreds gathered to watch Luciee Marie Closier from BBC One's The Voice open Friday's Christmas light switch-on in Waltham Abbey by singing from the town hall balcony.

After the lights were turned on by the Mayor of Waltham Abbey, Councillor Ann Mitchell, a procession of floats made its way from the town hall along Church Street and Sun Street.

In the parade was Sunshine Day Nursery's best in show winning float around the theme of Disney’s ‘Frozen’ and Upshire Primary School's Noah's Ark-themed group with a menagerie of Zebras, Lions and Elephants.

After the parade the crowds could listen to the Salvation Army band, go on fairground rides, meet up for refreshments in the Abbey Church or attend the barn dance in the town hall.
