A restaurant which employed illegal immigrants on two separate occasions has had its licence to sell alcohol revoked.
Lagos Island in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, faced the licensing committee at Waltham Forest Council yesterday after an application from the Met Police.
The African restaurant was visited by police and Border Agency officers in May.
According to police people working in the country without permission were found to be employed at the restaurant owned by Oridolamu Gaby Kolago.
A warrant was then applied for and officers revisited the site on September 5.
Four workers of eight were then arrested, including two Nigerian nationals.
The committee decided to take away the licence.
The licence holder has the right of appeal against the decision of the Committee to Magistrates Court.
