A restauranteur is to open an art gallery next door to his business in an attempt to attract more customers.
Nicky Hunt, who has run the Catch fish in Queen’s Road, Buckhurst Hill, for four years, decided to open the gallery after loyal customer and Walthamstow neon light artist, Chris Bracey, died in November.
Mr Hunt said: "He used to come in and I used to ask him if we could display any of his work.
"His death was the kick start I needed to go ahead with this gallery."
Catch Galleries is currently under construction and will feature local as well as more established artists.
Mr Hunt also plans to hold jazz nights at the venue.
He added: “I have always loved art.
"We have a great location at the top of the high road.
"If we can attract any more people in, it will be wonderful for business in the entire street."
"There is nothing like this in our area."
Catch Galleries is due to open on January 7 and will be free to enter.
