Young people took part in a competition to create their own computer game.
Professional developers helped the group who took part in the Hackjam at The Mill in Walthamstow on Saturday.
The event was run by Share UK, a non-profit organisation based in Walthamstow.
Event organiser, Esther Freeman said: “This wasn't just messing around on computers.
“Many young people in Walthamstow are leaving school with either very little or no knowledge of coding.
“This leaves them at a massive disadvantage when they enter the workplace.”
