The Victoria line should be extended to reconnect Chingford with the rest of Waltham Forest, according to one campaigner.
Sculptor Jonathan O'Dea, of Exeter Road in Walthamstow, has started a twitter campaign using the hashtag #VictoriaExtensionLine.
He said he was motivated to call for the investment after hearing residents views during canvassing when he stood as a Labour candidate in Valley ward.
"This is about connecting north and south,” The 39-year-old added.
“Parts of Chingford are completely disconnected from the rest of the borough and are in desperate need of better infrastructure.
"People in Chingford Mount and Chingford Hatch are only served by buses and they are not functioning properly because of constant traffic jams.
"Extra buses will bring the area to a standstill. There is no room for bus lanes and we cannot stop people from driving, so the only feasible option is going underground.”
