A second victim has come forward to say her door was vandalised with a swastika.

The 51-year-old woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, lives just 800 yards from Newlands Road, Chingford, where a widow's home was targeted by burglars who scrawled the Nazi symbol on her door last Thursday.

Police were called after the 69-year-old disturbed a group of burglars raiding her next door neighbour's home.

It came after police warned a single gang of burglars were targeting the area.

Now, a woman recently diagnosed with cancer has told the Guardian her door in Whitehall Road, Woodford Green, was vandalised in November following a visit from an 'ex-offender' selling cleaning goods.

He knocked at her door at around 5pm, but she told him to go away and said she was not interested.

She said: "He became extremely aggressive kicking the door and then started shouting at me through the door.

"I checked outside 10 minutes later and he had gobbed all over my car and drawn a Swastika on my door."

She said she recognised the man as he regularly knocks on doors in the area.

The woman had purchased from him previously, when he told her he had been in prison for grievous bodily harm.

She added: "This is too much of a coincidence and is obviously escalating in the area.

"The police cannot say this is an isolated incident."

The Guardian is awaiting a response from police.
