A disability charity has raised £766 after hosting its first murder mystery fundraiser.

Accuro, which provides respite care, holiday and Saturday clubs and a youth group for people with disabilities in Epping Forest, held the event at the Manor of Groves Hotel, High Wych on Friday.

Guests had to solve the mystery by acting in character roles and unravelling the plot to work out who had murdered Accuro CEO Arthur Steward.

The evening was hosted by Anthony Richards, of crime party organisers the Irregular Special Players, who gave his time free of charge.

Each guest was presented with a free short story book detailing the crime they had just solved at the end of the event.

The money raised is set to go towards providing a broad range of support and activities for children, young people and adults with a disability and their families in west Essex.
