Campaigners will hold a candlelit vigil for victims and survivors of recent global terrorist attacks.

This Saturday at 5pm people will gather in Walthamstow Town Square to remember people involved in the Peshawar and Sydney terrorist incidents.

The Pakistani city of Peshawar is burying its dead after a Taliban attack at a school killed at least 132 children and nine staff.

Mass funerals and prayer vigils for the victims are currently under way in Pakistan for the victims of Tuesday’s attack.

On the same day in Australia, Sydney siege gunman Man Haron Monis died along with two hostages when police raided the cafe he had taken over in the centre of Sydney.

The 'United for Peace No to Terror' campaign has been organised by two friends from Walthamstow who are asking for people to bring their own candles.

Organiser Sajidah Patel, a student at SOAS university in Russell Square, said she was "inspired" by the support she is recieving for the event.

"It shows that people from every walk of life can live side by side in unity. We can't let the acts of fanatics break down relationships made over the years between all faiths and members of society."
