A Walthamstow tower block is undergoing a £1.2m refurbishment.
All 46 flats at St David’s Court in Parkstone Road are to be improved.
Ascham Homes, the council's housing manager, has promised brand new PVC windows and balcony doors, with both the internal and external communal areas being redecorated.
A new communal TV system will also be introduced.
Garages, pathways and fences will also get a makeover and an intruder alarm is being installed on the roof of the block. The project is due to be completed by early spring 2015.
Lift replacement work will begin in the summer.
Madeleine Forster, chief executive of Ascham Homes, said: “We hope St David’s Court residents will notice real improvements to both their homes and their local environment.”
