A man was hospitalised yesterday after being seriously injured in a car crash.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene on Stanford Rivers Road near Ongar at 6.15pm following reports of a a silver Ford Focus in a ditch.
Two fire engines from Ongar and Brentwood released the driver, a 21-year-old man from Romford, and administered first aid and oxygen therapy.
The casualty was found to have suffered a serious head injury.
He taken to the Royal London Hospital for further treatment.
