A teenager believed to be in Redbridge has appeared on the Metropolitan Police's most wanted list.

Images of 12 people have been released in the hunt for London's "most evasive" criminals.

Ionut Chirila, 19, a Romanian national, is one of six men on the list wanted for burglary.

He is being sought following a string of residential burglaries across east London.

The five burglaries, in Ilford, Dagenham, and Rainham, took place between September 25 and October 26 this year.

He broke into a property in Benton Road, Ilford, between October 22 and 26 where he stole ladies clothing, jewellery, a Samsung tablet and two cameras.

The remaining six suspects are wanted in connection with violent offences, including grievous bodily harm and actual bodily harm.

The London-wide hunt is part of a range of tactics being used to crackdown on burglary and violence, through the Met's ongoing Operations Bumblebee and Equinox.

Operation Bumblebee was specifically launched on October 20 to deal with the 25 per cent rise in residential burglaries during the winter months.

Commander Simon Letchford, of territorial policing, said: "We are stepping up our activity to locate and arrest outstanding wanted suspects as part of our ongoing response to tackling burglary and violence in the capital.

"We will not give up in the search to find people who flout the law and cause people misery and we will use every means available to catch them.

"The use of fugitive teams and other daily operations will continue to ensure those wanted are caught, so they can face justice."

Anyone with information about Chirila should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
