A concert held in memory of a mother and daughter raised over £1,500 for Brain Tumour Research.

Last month's event at Bush Hills Park Bowls Club in Enfield saw Mel Field from Woodford take part in a group performance as a tribute to her eight-year-old daughter Molly, who died from an incurable tumour in 2010.

The concert by Performance, a musical theatre group, was organised by Allison Lochhead, whose mother Sylvia Horder, 63, died from a brain tumour in 2002.

Ms Field, 42, of Darnley Road, has raised thousands of pounds for charities including more than £80,000 for Haven House Children's Hospice in High Road, Woodford Green.

Organiser, Ms Lochhead, 47, said: "My mum was diagnosed with a grade IV glioma brain tumour in May 2001 and sadly passed away in July 2002.

"Then, in March 2010, Molly was diagnosed with a diffuse brain tumour which was inoperable and incurable and died six months later.

"It is unbearable to think that one in fifty people who die under the age of 60, die from a brain tumour, yet this area receives just one per cent of the national spend on cancer research."

More than 125 people attended the event which featured performances of Christmas number one's, a solo from Ms Lochhead's son Henry, 9, and a comedy routine with Molly's sister Isabella, aged nine.
