A drug dealer has been jailed after being caught with 495 wraps of crack cocaine.

Officers from Waltham Forest Gangs Task Force carried out a dawn raid on Ricardo Waldron-Islam's room at the YMCA building in Forest Road, Walthamstow in December.

When they arrived the dealer, 20, showed them to a draw in his bedroom where they discovered 495 wraps of the class A drug.

Waldron-Islam had been released from prison just six months earlier.

He was on licence having been convicted of possession with intent to supply drugs.

Officers also seized £160 cash, mobile phones and drugs paraphernalia during the raid.

Waldron-Islam pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply drugs when he appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court on December 16.

He was sentenced to two years at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday.

Detective Constable James Benge, of Waltham Forest Gangs Task Force, said: "We are cracking down on gangs supplying drugs on the borough of Waltham Forest.
