The chairman of Epping Forest District Council was filmed yesterday as the face of a new volunteering campaign.
Councillor Tony Boyce appeared in the new #SteppingUp campaign video, which will advertise the county-wide volunteering and community work project, to promote his Years of Volunteers campaign at the Leonard Davis House befriending group in North Weald.
The campaign will host its first roadshow event in Epping High Street tomorrow.
Charity Voluntary Action Epping Forest (VAEF) will be one of the groups present at the event to promote the services and activities it provides to people around the district.
Councillor Boyce said: “Volunteering is great for your mind and body.
"It can provide a boost to your self-confidences, self-esteem, and life satisfaction, reducing the risk of depression and it can help you to stay physically healthy.
"The Stepping Up campaign ties in beautifully with my year of volunteers campaign. Both are about helping to create stronger communities and stronger individuals.”
