A thief could be facing jail for breaking into a series of cars and stealing valuable items. 

Darren Stockley, of Chingford Road, Walthamstow, went on a two-month crime spree across Waltham Forest before being caught by police on January 8. 

The 36-year-old had targeted two parked cars outside of Forest School in College Place, Walthamstow, two cars in Marsh Lane, Leyton, a car at The Forest in Leytonstone, and a car in Forest View, Chingford. 

He was also charged with two counts of motor vehicle interference after a holdall containing womens clothing was stolen from a silver Renault Clio in College Place, and a silver Vauxhall Zafira was broken into at the same address.

He committed the offences on November 28, December 22 and January 6.   

Two car stereos with a street value of £400 were stolen in Marsh Lane, a sat nav worth £100 was taken from a car in Leytonstone and a £200 car stereo was nicked in Chingford. 

Stockley appeared at Thames Magistrates Court on January 10 where he pleaded guilty to five counts of theft from motor vehicle and two counts of motor vehicle interference. 

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court for sentencing on January 30.
