A busy road is set to fully re-open five weeks after a crash damaged a bridge.

A stretch of Roding Lane in Buckhurst Hill, has been closed and temporary traffic lights installed since December 13 when a car hit Roding Small Bridge, leading to severe delays.

The bridge, which provides access to Eton Manor Nursery, David Lloyd Leisure Centre and Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, was previously closed for 18 months following a similar incident in 2013.

Essex County Councillor Eddie Johnson, cabinet member for highways maintenance, said: “Our work on the bridge is due to complete on Friday afternoon, at which time we’ll be removing our temporary traffic signals.”
