A man has died after being hit by a car.
The pedestrian was struck by the vehicle in Forest Road, Walthamstow, late last night.
Emergency services were called to the scene, near the junction with Hoe Street, at 10.20pm.
The man suffered a cardiac arrest and was taken to Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, where he died.
The man is yet to be formally identified.
The 21-year-old driver of the car, a black Mercedes C-class, stopped at the scene.
He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody.
Investigators at the scene carried out enquiries into the circumstances of the incident.
