A concert has been arranged to raise funds to ssupport the Loughton-based National Jazz Archive.
The archive, in Trap’s Hill, preserves artefacts such as records, concert programmes and instruments.
Clarinettist Dave Shepherd, who has been voted best jazz clarinettist four times, will play with his Quintet visit a church at Loughton Methodist Church, in High Road, on April 11, starting at 1.30pm.
Tickets cost £15.
Mr Shepherd, who was honoured with a blue plaque outside his childhood home in Walthamstow last year, said: “The National Jazz Archive does great work in preserving the history of our music.
It is a pleasure to bring my group to play to help raise funds to support it.”
