A 22-year-old was injured after being attacked by a gang of muggers.

The man was in Coppice Row, Theydon Bois, when he was appraoched by five men at 11.30pm on January 16.

He was kicked to the ground and punched him several times, leaving him with a chipped tooth and a bruised left cheek.

The gang stole his mobile phone and wallet, before heading towards Theydon Bois underground station.

The victim, who lives in Theydon Bois, had left the Tube station 10 minutes before.

The Guardian is awaiting a description of the gang.
