A teenage cyclist was repeatedly stabbed and left for dead after being attacked from behind.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following the incident in Brookscroft Road, Walthamstow, near the junction with Kitchener Road, at 11.49pm yesterday.
Police were called to reports of a 17-year-old boy lying in the street with multiple stab wounds to his arms, legs and back.
He is in a stable condition in hospital.
Police believe the victim was attacked from behind as was cycling and the suspect made off in a silver or grey coloured vehicle towards Chingford Road.
No arrests have been made.
