The site of a former social club is set to become an Islamic community centre.
Charity Hudhayfah bin Al-Yamaan (MHbA) secured the former Leytonstone Social Club in High Road, Leytonstone, in September.
The charity aims to host counselling, support groups and anti-radicalisation classes at the centre.
It does not have to apply for planning permission unless the site is used as a place of worship.
Adeel Yasin, of MHbA, said: “We have been working tirelessly to clear the site in order for us to begin the renovations to make it into a fully functional modern community centre.
“The new community centre will be a local hub of activity of engaging with local people and delivering on our charitable objectives.”
A Q&A session and presentation on the plans will take place on Sunday at the Epicentre, in West Street, Leytonstone, between midday and 2pm.
