Police have carried out a marine and fingertip search across the border of two boroughs in an attempt to find a missing man.

Ambrose Ball, 30, also known as Jay, was seen driving his silver coloured BMW from The Fox public house on Green Lanes, Palmers Green towards Tottenham on January 24.

Just after 3am a member of the public reported seeing his car collide with the central reservation on Watermead Way at the junction with Sedge Road in Tottenham.

The car lost one of its front wheels and continued further down the road, coming to rest next to Tottenham Marshes.

Following the collision, Ambrose Ball, got out of his car and has not been seen since.

A subsequent area search found his coat in Watermead Way, on the border of Walthamstow with Tottenham.

A three-day search began in which specialist officers searched the River Lea and Walthamstow wetlands.

The body of missing man Joshua Knox-Hooke was found in the Boundary Reservoir in December.

Air units, dog teams and ground officers were called in to search the area– but nothing was found.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Trevers of Haringey Borough said: "We are appealing to anyone who saw a BMW being driven at speed across north London in the early hours of Saturday 24 January or the collision on Watermead Way Tottenham.

“We have searched the area and are concerned about Ambrose Ball's welfare, especially as it was a particularly cold night.”

Mr Ball is described as black, around 5ft 9in tall.

He is stocky and has black cropped hair and a goatee beard and a rose tattoo on his neck.

The last time Mr Ball was seen he was wearing a blue Stone Island jacket, blue Armani jeans, a white t-shirt and white Ralph Lauren trainers with a blue logo and blue soles.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen Ambrose leave his car to come forward and assist them with their enquiries.

They can call police on 101 or anonymously on Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
