Teenagers suspected of committing robberies were arrested in dawn raids across Walthamstow and Hackney yesterday.

Warrants were executed at the homes of ten teenagers, between the ages of 15 and 17, in a joint operation.

The teens, six boys and four girls, were taken into custody on suspicion of robbery, actual bodily harm and theft.

The operation saw officers from Hackney's Serious Acquisitive Crime, Safer Neighbourhoods Teams and Waltham Forest borough execute ten search warrants.

It relates to an ongoing investigation into a linked series of robberies across east London, including a number of repeat offences during December 2014 and January 2015 at the Clarence Convenience Store, in Clarence Road, Hackney.

Detective Constable Vicki Henderson, from Hackney's Serious Acquisitive Crime unit, said: "Today's arrests are the culmination of an intelligence-led targeted operation to tackle robberies.

“We have arrested suspects from a developing criminal network who we believe to be responsible for a significant number of robberies in north and east London."
