Pupils learned what it was like to work at a shopping mall for the day yesterday.
Children from South Grove Primary School, in Ringwood Road, Walthamstow, took part in The Mall Takeover Day initiative at the Walthamstow Mall.
The nationwide initiative was for pupils to experience working in retail, as they shadowed members of the centre team in marketing, security and customer service.
Julie Maltwood, headteacher of South Grove Primary School, said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for our children at South Grove to experience the world of work in a local and familiar environment.
“It created an opportunity for them to work with adults for the day and be involved in decision-making. It gave them an insight into the variety of roles necessary to run The Mall and the need for strong teamwork for it to be effective.
”The children had an opportunity to share their opinions and be listened to, showing them that their input and feedback is valued within their local community.”
