The owner of a shop ordered to improve hygiene standards has said he does not know why his business was given such a poor rating.
Heers Food and Wine, in Hatch Lane, Chingford, scored one out of five following an inspection last month by Waltham Forest council last month.
But owner Jay Heer insists he remains in the dark on the reasons for the lowest possible rating.
He said: "I don't understand why they have done that really.
"We don't prepare any food on the premises apart from the bread which we bake.
"I think they have their own agenda, the shop was clean when they came.
"We don't even have a full kitchen."
Waltham Forest council has been contacted for comment.
