A drug dealer believed to have been selling crack cocaine to a police officer has been jailed.

Jordan Ingleton, 30, of Whitehall Lane in Buckhurst Hill, was arrested after a Metropolitan Police officer tested positive for the drug following an undercover surveillance operation.

Officers subsequently raided Ingleton’s home, where they found 29.8g of crack cocaine, 1.03g of heroin and £6,000 in cash.

He admitted supplying class A drugs and was jailed for four years and five months at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday.

The officer in question has since resigned from the police service.

Police have not revealed how they link Ingelton to the officer.

Detective Inspector Bill Wright, from the Anti-Corruption Command, said: "There is no place in the Metropolitan Police Service for police officers or staff who use illegal drugs.

"We will investigate all intelligence we get about crime and corruption by our staff, seeking to either prove or disprove it.

"We do not stop at investigating our own staff. An important part of our work is targeting those criminals who seek to corrupt our staff.”
