A pub which regularly hosts an evening with the stars is to entertain two major Arsenal players from the 80s.

In support of Woodford Green's Haven House Children's Hospice, Perry Groves and Paul Merson will spend an intimate night with residents at The Napier pub in High Road, Woodford Green.

Guests will be able to quiz the former Arsenal winger and midfielder on their successful careers from football stardom to businessman and leading television pundit.

Merson made 425 appearances for Arsenal in a career that spanned 12 years, scoring 99 goals. Nicknamed ‘The Magic Man’, Merson went on to play for Middlesbrough, Aston Villa, Portsmouth and Walsall and is now better known as a Sky TV presenter of the Fantasy Football show and a regular on SKY Sports Soccer Saturday football coverage.

He is likely to discuss his recent clash with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger following his outspoken comments about the team's defence.

Groves, who went on to score 23 goals for the north London club during his 203 appearances will talk about his new venture called Play with a Legend, which offers fans the chance to play alongside their heroes.

The event, organised by Sporting Celebrities, will take place on March 3 from 7pm and tickets cost £25 or £55 for the VIP package experience.

The pub helped raise over £600 for the High Road hospice on February 12 when it opened its doors to cricket legends Graham Gooch and Mike Gatting.
