A disability group have given their approval to the accessibility at the Palace of Westminster following a visit.

Residents of Revitalise Jubilee Lodge respite holiday centre in Grange Farm Lane, Chigwell, which provides breaks for disabled people and carers, said they were impressed with the level of accessibility that had recently been added ahead of their visit on Friday.

The group, who were visiting the landmark for the first time, were guided around the Westminster Hall, the Central Lobby, the House of Commons, the House of Lords and the Queen’s Robing Room before having tea in the Palace’s Terrance Pavilion.

Guest at the lodge David Jones said: “The trip was very enjoyable, I learnt a lot about what goes on there.

“Our tour guide said parts of the Palace date back to the Middle Ages, so being able to get around so much of it was an incredible result.”
