A card shop has launched a weird and wacky range following a management takeover.

Hallmark Celebrate in Manford Way, Chigwell, was opened under the new name this month by owner Naomi Green, who formally ran successful pop-up shop 'Celebrate' in Old Church Road, Chingford, alongside mother Pat Green last year.

The 30-year-old, who launched her brand in the former Hallmark store, now sells alternative gifts, cards and party supplies from all over the world, including American candles made from recycled bottles, pet remembrance cards and a turntable-style cat scratcher.

The store, which is also the only shop in the world to stock ‘Chillimelon’, an exclusive range of Black and Asian cards, has this week introduced a new faith and diversity line of products which reflects Christian, Jewish, Muslim, African-Caribbean, Asian and Eastern European card and gift ranges.

Current best-sellers in the shop include pop-up cards and Guiness, Jack Daniels and Marmite flavoured fudge.

Ms Green, who formerly worked as a trade assistant for a finance firm in London, said: "the takeover has been incredible.

"I have already had such amazing feedback and it is great to have opened up a store permanently as it it something I have always wanted to do.

“Since a young age I have always been into throwing parties and soirees so I thought what better career than to help people do something that I love!

“We have one of a kind items that I can say no one else in the area has and it is great to be able to say that.

"It is nice to have brought something different to the area and I think everyone has really taken to the change."

Ms Green will be showcasing the new card and gift range at Hainault Community Centre in Manford Way, Chigwell, on Saturday at 6.30pm.
