A housing association which says it has invested more than £90million in building affordable homes in the last five years is set to launch 15 new properties.

East Thames Group will unveil the Mayfield development, a collection of one, three and four-bedroom houses in Chingford Mount Road on Saturday.

The six shared ownership homes in the building, which also offers one affordable rent home and eight supported living scheme properties, each have a private garden and parking space and will be exclusively available to those who already work or live in Waltham Forest.

The housing association, which was appointed as an Affordable Housing Investment Partner for the council in 2009, plans to invest a further £38.5million in new homes for the area over the next three years.

Future plans include the development of 21 new homes on the site of Wood Street Library’s car park in Walthamstow.

East Thames Director of Development Trevor Burns said: “Since becoming an Affordable Housing Investment Partner for the borough in 2009 we have dedicated ourselves to delivering on our commitment to providing more affordable housing for local people.

"We have built an excellent collaborative working relationship with Waltham Forest Council and look forward to contributing more to the area over the coming years.”
