Supporters of a rotary club are set to take part in a sponsored swim to raise money for charity.
Members and friends of Ongar Rotary Club in Greenstead Road, Ongar, will spend one hour swimming lengths at the Ongar Leisure Centre in Fyfield Road on March 22.
All funds raised will be donated to the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Cancer Research UK to assist with research into finding cures and treatments.
Ongar Club’s President Bill Tillott said: “We are extremely grateful to the swimmers for rising to this challenge, whether they will be swimming a few lengths, or well over a mile, as some like to do.
"We are also very grateful to the Ongar Leisure Centre staff for supporting Rotary and these charities.
"I hope that local families will come and swim to help raise much needed funds."
The event will take place at the leisure centre between 5 and 6pm.
