The forgotten soldiers of the First and Second World Wars may gain public recognition for the first time under new plans.

An appeal has been made by Loughton Town Council for members of the public to nominate names of soldiers that have not yet been honoured on the war memorial on Kings Green.

Plaques were erected 13 years ago for the local men who lost their lives in the Second World War, and since then the names of more soldiers have been put forward for public recognition from the council.

To nominate a name and for more information about the latest memorial additions, phone the council on 020 8508 4200 or email contact@loughton-tc.gov.uk.
