Schools were awash with colour as children dressed up as their favourite characters to celebrate World Book Day.
On Thursday and Friday (March 5 and 6) pupils across Wanstead enthusiastically joined in the fancy dress celebrations.
Staff at Aldersbrook Primary School picked out the best dressed in Thursday’s morning assembly in Harpenden Road, Wanstead.
Wanstead Church School in High Street, Wanstead, organised book-themed activities during Friday.
Also on Friday, pupils took part in a parade at Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School, in Chestnut Drive, Wanstead.
