Transport for London has announced a weekend closure on the Victoria Line.

There will be no service between Seven Sisters Station and Walthamstow Central on May 16 and 17.

The closure is to enable ‘preparatory track work’ ahead of the three week suspension of the service in August.

In order to increase the number of trains serving Walthamstow to 36 per hour, according to TFL, there will be no service between Walthamstow and Seven Sisters between August 8 and 30.

During the closure there will be a ‘high-frequency rail replacement bus service’ calling at all stations between Walthamstow Central and Seven Sisters.

In addition, there will be two additional bus services on weekdays.

The first will be from Walthamstow Central to Stratford Station, Via St James Street and the other will be a new scheduled bus service between Chingford Mount and Seven Sisters.

The car park at Walthamstow Central will be completely shut from August 7 to September 6.

It has also been confirmed that TFL does not compensate for engineering works which are advertised in advance as customers with season tickets.

Further to these works, noise assessments will soon be carried out ahead of the Night Tube introduction.

Noise reduction work may follow.
