A cyclist was attacked by three men who punched him, pushed him into the road and stole his bike.

The victim, 53, was making his way towards Wanis Distribution Centre in Orient Way, Leyton (on March 17) when he noticed three males walking along the left side pavement.

One of the men suddenly charged at the cyclist, causing him to fall off his bike into the road, shortly after 10pm.

Another man then punched the victim in the back of the head before a third grabbed the bike and all three ran off.

Two cyclists who saw what happened chased the attackers, who dropped the bike and ran.

Police were called and the area was searched but officers could not find the suspects.

The victim sustained bruising to his elbow and hip but declined medical attention.

Suspect one is described as a black man, around 5ft 8ins, of medium build and wearing a black puffy coat.

Suspect two is described as a black man, around 5ft 8ins, wearing all black clothing.

Suspect three is described as possibly an Asian man, around 5ft 8ins, wearing black clothing.

All three are believed to be aged between 18 and 25.
