Every dog owner in England will have to microchip their animal from 6 April 2016.
Dog owners are being offered the opportunity to have their pets microchipped for free.
Dogs Trust, a national dogs charity, will carry out the procedure at the Roding Valley Recreation Ground tomorrow (March 24).
Private veterinary clinics will typically charge between £20 and£30.
The event, which will also offer a dogs agility course and free neutering and health check vouchers, will take place next to the tennis courts between 11am and 3pm.
