A woman has appeared in court charged with possession of an identity document following her arrest at Luton Airport last week.

Jamila Henry, 21, of Waltham Forest, was arrested on Thursday (March 19) by counter-terror police on suspicion of preparing acts of terrorism after landing at the London airport on a flight from Istanbul.

She appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court on Saturday (March 21) charged with possession of an identity document with intent, and has been remanded in custody to appear before the Old Bailey on April 7.

In an interview with The Sun, Henry's twin sister Jalila of Balham, south London, told the newspaper her sister had converted to Islam while at secondary school because it was the "'in' thing to do".

She also said how her plans for a girls’ weekend to Amsterdam were scuppered by her sister’s links to Syria.

Jalila admitted her sister had travelled to Syria with her baby son last year, and is believed to have married a Syrian Islamic State fighter while there.
