A community clean-up event at a much-loved park has been hailed as a "great success".

The Waltham Forest council-led initiative was organised by The Friends of the Highams Park (FOHP) group on Sunday (March 22) at Highams Park field, off Charter Road.

In the space of two hours, a group of 25 residents filled over 27 bags with litter from around park, which included bed springs and a bike wheel.
