Police are appealing for information after a hospital patient was hit by a car.
The incident happened at around 2.30am in Whipps Cross Road, at the junction with James Lane in Leytonstone, on Saturday (March 21).
A 33-year-old man wearing a hospital gown came out of the hospital and crossed the road in front of a car.
It is believed that as the car drew closer, he jumped into its path and was struck by the vehicle.
The pedestrian sustained serious head injuries.
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene.
No arrests have been made.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
