A new park shelter has been officially opened.
The shelter in Memorial Play Field in North Weald was opened by North Weald Bassett Parish Council chairman Cyril Hawkins on Wednesday.
It was erected last week following grants from Essex County Council’s Big Society Fund and the Stansted Airport Community Trust.
The event also marked the safeguarding of the park as part of the Fields in Trust programme marking the Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
Queens Hall Charity trustee Elaine Godwin-Brown said: “The dedication of the memorial playing field will help to ensure that it is available to future generations as a recreational area.”
