The man shot in the early hours of yesterday morning is now in a stable condition, police have confirmed.
Police were called to High Street, Wanstead, at 12.35am on Wednesday, where they found a 30-year-old man with a wound to his chest.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
It is believed the man was shot in Draycot Road, before driving across George Green into High Street, and coming to a halt.
Police confirmed today that the man is now in a serious but stable condition.
No arrests have been made.
