Waltham Forest’s annual cultivate festival will come to an end this weekend after another successful year.

Over the last week more than 82 tonnes of compost was given out and residents were encouraged to grown their own greens.

Masterchef winner and Chingford resident Natalie Coleman officially kicked off proceedings on March 20, along with Councillor Clyde Loakes, Waltham Forest Council's Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Environment.

Over 100 new and experienced growers attended the bee-themed launch which included bee experts and bee themed music and performance.

The final events will be held this weekend.

On Saturday there will be an Urban Herbal Street Party with a day of workshops in Bakers Avenue Walthamstow, between 12pm and 3pm.

There will also be a ‘Seed Sowing, Sharing, Swapping’ session at Church Lane Community Garden, Leytonstone at the same time.

The Hawkwood Plant Nursery in Chingford will host the OrganicLea Open Day on Sunday.

There will be tours, tasters and workshops between 12pm and 4pm.
